Abstract:
The paper deals with the issue of education of students with severe multiple disability. It presents the author´s research, its outputs and possible apllications in the field of special education. The research has a qualitative design and uses a methodology of grounded theory. Tha data was collected by qualitative interviews, observation of education, analyses of students documentation and a questionaire. Open coding of all data provided basic cathegories of education. The axial coding enabled to find the real as well as supposed relationships among different cathegories and subcathegories. On this level we found out different intervention processes. In the final stage of selective coding we searched for the most important cathegories and relationships and constructed visual schemes for this processes. Futher we thought about possible continuity of these processes as will be presented in a longitudinal case study of one student with multiple disability. In the end we will discuss possible applications of our theory in the education of students with multiple disability as well as another groups of special needs.
