Abstract:
In this article we will discuss some issues connected to students staff exchange programmes.

It will be explained what do we mean by students mobility and results will be represented why do students decide to participate (or not) in student mobility program. The role of factors influencing students’ decision will be highlighted. The research of influences on international student mobility within Erasmus and individual decision-making was done at the institution Biotechnical Centre Naklo Higher Vocational College. The vocational college is a part of tertiary education – vocational education with a lot of practical education in companies, education for labour market.

The ERASMUS University Charter (EUC) provides the general framework for all the European cooperation activities, which a higher education institution may carry out within the ERASMUS programme. We are working on effective communication strategy for raising the profile of mobility and its benefits. Student mobility for placements enables students at higher education institutions to spend a placement (traineeship/internship) period between 3 months and 12 months in an enterprise or organisation in another participating country. The objectives of student placements are to help students to adapt to the requirements of the EU-wide labour market; to enable students to develop specific skills including language skills and to improve understanding of the economic and social culture of the country concerned in the context of acquiring work experience; to promote cooperation between higher education institutions and enterprises; to contribute to the development of a pool of well-qualified, open-minded and internationally experienced young people as future professionals. Erasmus exchange is a successful experience. But at the same time we have been dealing with lack of motivation recently. Various factors were rated on a scale from 1-6 by survey respondents.

We will conclude with some key observations where lack of motivation is noticed and we will try to find support for increasing students motivation for mobility.
