Abstract:
This paper contains the main objectives of a teaching innovation project entitle "Self-learning demographic techniques on population mortality." This project has been funded by University of Granada (Innovation and Best Teaching Practices: Course 2010/2011). The aim of this project is to promote student self-learning through a proactive and participatory attitude under the guidance of the teacher-tutor. For this reasons, we have made use of e-learning. A complete collection of theoretical and practical contents about demographic techniques are available by clicking on our website. In order to motivate students, dynamic tutorials will be added in the website (flash animations with sound); this application is being carried out by programming language. Within the European higher education system context, we have pretended to extend the most traditional demographic techniques to the new learning environment based on the new technologies.
