Abstract:
One of the biggest challenges of education is getting students to review the contents explained in class throughout the academic year in order to consolidate their knowledge, without waiting for their study shortly before the final exam date. In addition, each student is different and has his or her own difficulties, so sometimes the suggested methods or activities for the review are too general and do not meet the particular needs of each student. For this reason, we need context-aware or personalized techniques that meet to the student particular needs. In this paper, we propose a mobile application with augmented reality with which the student can review the contents of the subject and where the questions shown to each student focus on the specific difficulties of that student in each particular subject. In addition, it is a service-oriented implementation, which allows the teacher to easily introduce new subjects and questions, as well as to use the app to perform tests and store the results. Currently, the app has been populated with questions about university subjects related to computer science and topography, and has been tested with students from both specialties to estimate their satisfaction.
