Abstract:
The paper deals with the activation techniques making the process of learning more interactive and efficient. The methods applied to achieve the solution of the research problem are analysis of literature and experiments performed in classes of English with the students of the second year of studies at the Kazan Federal University. Cooperative learning can be realized in various ways and in this article some of them are reflected and analyzed. Working together at different cooperative learning projects, such as launching an advertisement in the Internet, shooting films, writing stories or articles, taking part in performances and many others, students utilize their language and communication skills. As a result, they cope with oral tasks at the exams and achieve their goals at job interviews more successfully.

The authors conclude that cooperative learning included into the process of studying English at an upper-intermediate or an advanced level can teach student to communicate and achieve better results. When students are aware of the purpose and benefit of functioning in teams and groups, they are more willing to adapt their behaviors for successful completion of all activities done in class. The paper might be of interest for school teachers and University lecturers interested in varying methods in teaching English and setting more convenient atmosphere for student to communicate and interact.
