Abstract:
On September 25th 2015, countries adopted a set of goals to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda .This new Agenda calls for efforts to achieve 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the next 15 years, integrating the social, economic and environmental dimensions of sustainable development, and addressing aspects related to peace, justice and effective institutions. Universities have initiated a process of strategic reflection on the integration of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This implies to address its objectives transversally in the university policies and integrate the goals in the different fields of action: training, research and university extension. In addition, the mobilization of resources for their implementation (including financial resources), the development and transfer of technology and skills development, as well as the role of partnerships, are also recognized as essential. In this context, Universities should reflect on the implications of the SDGs within their structures and activities and should acquire a fundamental role in the training of socially responsible citizens, who know and commit themselves to the challenges and problems of a global world. For this, it is necessary that these organizations can generate mechanisms to provide teachers with the necessary techniques and resources to train students in the management of social and environmental impacts, as well as to train professionals committed to the permanent search for the best possible relationships between society and the environment, taking into account aspects such as human and environmental development, justice, solidarity, equity, or respect for diversity. The present study aims to provide continuity to the lines of work opened with our previous educational projects, which have allowed working on concepts related to sustainable development in university teaching. At the same time, we try to advance in education for sustainable development through the integration of experiences from the business world.
