Abstract:
A novel strategy, design and organization of an interdisciplinary engineering discipline, taught at Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain), are presented and evaluated in this paper. The main goal is to improve the learning process increasing the student’s activity and motivation, while enhancing professional skills using the Information and communications technologies (ICT).

More dynamic and active methodologies are proposed in this strategy, applying didactic techniques as case method, implementation of real mini-projects, Phillips 66 and group work with digital tablets and simulators, promoting a bigger approach to the real engineering world.

The application of the mentioned techniques pursues to develop in the students the abilities that they will need in their professional future as “to know how to make” and “to learn how to learn” using the new technologies, facilitating students' employability.

In the present paper the diverse didactic techniques used in the Classroom 2.0 with virtual tutoring and laboratories are analyzed, justifying their election. Finally, the conclusions of our experience applying this methodology in the European Higher Education Area are presented.
