Abstract:
The objective of this project was to coordinate the various course subjects in the field of graphic expression taught in the Building Engineering Degree so that a relationship between the knowledge and learning processes could be established. Therefore, it was necessary to work on all the teaching activities which globally and collectively enhance the acquisition of graphic knowledge and skills among students.

To this end, an action plan was designed to be implemented in two academic years. The first phase was undertaken in year one and implied reviewing the different syllabi, assessment systems and methodologies used. The outcome was a new common framework relating all the graphic course subjects considered in this project.

This resulting common framework was based on preparing a suitable joint programming for the various activities to be carried out throughout the academic year. It was devised in such a way that it gave continuity to the learning process and consolidated students’ knowledge that each course subject adapted and improved, depending on the approach used in each course subject for a given problem that the students had to face.

This proposal was put into action in the following academic year by developing coordinated exercises. The exercises helped strengthen application concepts through group practicals based on analysing and developing an existing architectural example from the perspective of the various course subjects involved.

As the final result, the work teams synthesised the work they completed in a final presentation which shows the different graphic applications worked on throughout the year that applied to the specific building case.
