The multimedia literacy, a high school subject in the making, based on higher education curriculum at universities in Serbia and during the transitional period, could be taught by graduate managers in media, masters in media management, masters in journalism, masters in the field of political science, with a mandatory additional training in the field of pedagogical-didactic theory and practice. Educators of multimedia literacy are required to have specific multidisciplinary knowledge that is not currently included in the study programs that educate future professionals in the Serbian media. In the transitional period, media literacy in secondary schools could be taught by teachers of Serbian language and literature, psychology, sociology, civic education, art teachers, teachers of foreign languages and literature or philosophy teachers but only on condition that they previously undergo mandatory training in the field of communication, mass media and multimedia literacy.
